Catherine and fellow Matlen-Anderson Fellowship Award Winners from UConn’s doctoral program attend PTSD treatment training at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy. There, Catherine met with one of the most influential psychologists in the world, Dr. Aaron Beck, as well as his daughter and current president of the Beck Institute, Dr. Judith Beck.

Elise’s Post-Grad Plans!

After graduation, Elise will be attending Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions for an Accelerated Bachelors in Nursing Program! After becoming a registered nurse, she hopes to work in a hospital’s psychiatric department in Boston.

Taylor’s Summer Position!

Junior Taylor Brosnihan gained a position at The Bridge of Central Massachusetts for Summer 2016! As a Relief Counselor for the CARS program she will be working with children and adolescents placed in residential care by DCF and/or DMH by the state of Massachusetts. Taylor is looking forward to learning more about Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) treatment and assisting residents in improving daily life functioning.

Catherine presented with post doctoral fellow Michela Muggeo at the Anxiety and Depression Association of America in Philadelphia this weekend. Their poster is entitled “Enhancing the Capacity of School Nurses to Reduce Anxiety in Children: An Open Trial of the CALM Intervention”

JC’s New Position!

After completing his Bachelor of Science degree in psychology at UConn, JC accepted a full-time project coordinator position as a part of the 4KEEPS study team under the supervision of Dr. Anna Lau (UCLA) and Dr. Lauren Brookman-Frazee (UCSD). This 5-year NIMH-funded project aims to inform the field on the dissemination and implementation of Evidence-Based Practices (EBPs) in the community mental health setting of Los Angeles County. Specifically, the supplemental project that JC coordinates is currently investigating potential ethnic/racial differences in EBP fidelity. More information on the project can be found here, at the 4KEEPS website. After completing the 18-month position, JC plans to apply to PhD programs in Clinical Psychology with a focus on the dissemination and implementation of EBPs for child anxiety. Congratulations JC!

Caitlin and Amanda accept post-doctoral positions!

Amanda LeTard will complete her post-doctoral training in Connecticut at CBT Westport, a private practice in beautiful Westport, CT! Her advanced training will be in cognitive-behavioral individual and group therapy for adults and children.

Caitlin Dombrowski will be returning to the Northeast from sunny Florida! She accepted a clinical neuropsychology fellowship at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School, a psychiatric hospital in Belmont, MA! Her training will focus on inpatient and outpatient assessment of neurological and psychiatric conditions.
